 The Tamilnadu Foodgrains Merchants Association started its functioning in 1945 and completed 60 years of glorious service catering to the needs of the Foodgrains Trade and Industry of the entire State of Tamilnadu.
Having completed its Diamond Jubilee Year (2004-2005), The Tamilnadu Foodgrains Merchants Association is a trail blazer promoting the growth and development of Foodgrains based Trade and Industries in Tamilnadu. The Tamilnadu Foodgrains Merchants Association is synonymous amongst the Foodgrain Traders and Industry due to its pre-occupation in the Industrial growth stimulation by effective liasoning among Trade Associations, Industrial Houses and Government Departments and Agencies.

- Federation of All India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) - New Delhi.
- Federation of All India Foodgrains Dealers Association (FAIFDA) - New Delhi.
- Confederation of Indian Food and Trade Industries (CIFTI) - New Delhi
- Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) – Chennai
With a strong membership of about 1675 and a pro-active team of office – bearers who believe in Collective Leadership through empowerment and synergy, The Tamilnadu Foodgrains Merchants Association is well known as a Pioneer Organisation committed to serve with its fullest potential, Promotor of Trade and Industry interest and eveready spokesman for Food related Trade and Industry and of course for the General Welfare of the common people. In the event of Globalisation and Liberalisation the scope and future of Food related Industries be it processed or otherwise is indeed unlimited.
